| The University of California, Riverside Physical Plant Services Electrical Shop has an excellent opportunity available for a skilled electrician. The Maintenance B - Electrician, working in and around industrial electrical equipment of various voltages up to and including 12,000volts (12KV), performs maintenance and repair on electrical systems such as generators, transformers, motors, Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV) switchgear, DC systems, computerized lighting systems and battery chargers. Performs planned and emergency maintenance on electrical and lighting control systems in campus buildings. Maintains industrial electrical equipment. Performs trouble shooting as needed on equipment such as generators, transformers, switch gear, breakers, batteries, and Motor Control Centers (MCC) to identify potential or actual electrical equipment problems. Provides independent inspection and response to requests for repair or installation of campus equipment. Maintains accurate service records on all equipment. Updates equipment documentation, specifications and drawings as needed. Performs all job duties in adherence to all University and Departmental safety guidelines. |
Maintains, repairs and installs electrical systems as assigned, such as panels, lights, controls, sensors, electrical systems, conduit, motors, operators, and wiring. Repairs and rewires systems according to building codes and safety regulations. Performs preventive maintenance on line and low voltage systems. Performs installation, programming, updating as well as servicing of Lutron (and other brands) lighting and shading control systems. Performs installation of new or modified electrical wiring and devices; troubleshooting, shop fabrications, predictive and preventive maintenance, inspections, test operations, services repairs or replacement. Participates in the design of assemblies, systems, equipment and/or controls, electrical and/or mechanical. Prepares drawings in detail showing measurements and materials with information obtained from blueprints and verbal instructions.
