Summary of Position: The department is accepting applications to fill future or anticipated openings in the 2016-2017 academic year. The positions will be responsible for providing Windows and Macintosh desktop support for Computer labs and Technical "smart" Classrooms in the Campus Technology Services unit.
Major Responsibilities: Maintain proper functioning of all computing equipment and software applications in the computer labs and classrooms. This includes computer hardware installation and maintenance, software installation and updates, system configuration, networks, and servers.Provide troubleshooting and technical hardware/software support to computer labs and classrooms. Work with other groups within Information Resources unit to provide customer support.
Required Qualifications: - Associate's Degree and minimum two year experience in a technical or computer lab and classroom support environment. - Must speak and write effectively - Demonstrates the ability to work well in close cooperation with a wide variety of people, demonstrating efficiency and a genuine desire to help others. - Must possess solid technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work with varying levels of computer expertise from beginner to advanced users. - Must be able to cope with the physical aspects of the job: walking, prolonged standing, crawling, and possibly carrying weights up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree preferred and experience will be considered - Working knowledge of web-based application and multi-media technologies and security issues.- Understanding of technologies associated with media creation and productions in an educational environment
