The Professional Billing Analyst CIN will actively contribute to an innovative team dedicated to establishing a new foundation for advancing clinical delivery and quality outcomes. Incumbent will fulfill multiple roles throughout the development, implementation, management, and on-going support of UCSD Medical Center's comprehensive revenue cycle systems, specific to Professional Billing. Will gain knowledge of the Epic EMR software, as well as medical center operations and workflow, and will work closely with the project team's senior application analysts and clinical leaders to translate business needs into EMR functionality.
The incumbent will build data sets, master files and reports, perform quality assurance and integrated testing, and release new functionality to end-users. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing vendor software releases and updates to test features desired and then implement them within UCSD Medical Center's system(s). The incumbent will assist in maintaining current test and training environments and will participate in training end-users. The incumbent will provide 7/24 problem management support and resolution for the Professional Billing revenue cycle application.

Epic Certification in Professional Billing and/or other Epic applications; if not, certification must be acquired within 6 months of hire.
Experience in information systems development within a large-scale healthcare organization; experience specifically in an outpatient setting.
Billing background and experience that provides understanding of healthcare operations and basic clinical care delivery.
Demonstrated experience and proven expertise in problem-solving and debugging techniques.
Demonstrated ability in specification development, quantitative methods, system documentation and change management.
Proven ability to effectively use vendor-provided and/or other computing tools to tailor systems and applications to meet specifications and user requirements.
Ability to plan and organize day-to-day.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience, background, knowledge of health information management.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
