The Senior Director of Psychiatry will oversee the delivery of patient care through subordinate staff and managers and establish operational goals, objectives and budgets for multiple complex departments. Responsibilities include establishment and implementation of optimal operating policies and procedures required to deliver quality patient care and appropriately manager resources. This role will work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders to plan for new health care services and performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Director will effectively represent Carilion Clinic within the healthcare community and to the public.
This position will work in 2 locations: Radford- 36 beds and Roanoke-51 beds. 2 days or more days will be in Radford each week.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: Master's degree is required and a nursing degree at the minimum of the BSN level is required for Magnet compliance.
Experience: 5-7 years experience in management, preferably health care environment, demonstrating increased and/or diversified responsibility for related services. Minimum of 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred. Leadership experience in a Magnet hospital preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensure and/or certification in medical or management related discipline.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with child and adolescent acute care and significant experience working with Inpatient Psych in a facility with 90 or more beds.
