The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Nephrology, seeks a full-time academic Nephrologist with demonstrated experience in aspects of clinical nephrology that can include chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis, fluid and electrolyte disorders and renal transplantation. Qualified applicants must be able to perform outpatient procedures, continuous and intermittent dialysis procedures, and native and transplant kidney biopsy. Applicants must have a medical degree, be BC/BE in Nephrology or equivalent by the start of employment, and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Illinois. The successful candidate will provide patient care directly and teach and supervise our clinical trainees while pursuing scholarly activities and maintaining a productive clinical portfolio. This position requires prior clinical, translational or laboratory-based research. Candidates with suitable administrative experience may be named Medical Director of an off-site dialysis facility. Depending upon qualifications, appointment will be made at the junior faculty level or at Associate Professor rank.
