Salary: Commensurate with experienceRequired Qualifications: MD degree or equivalent. Eligibility for New York State licensure. Completion at an accredited Neurology residency. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology. Strong interest in an academic career.
Preferred Qualifications: Fellowship training in a neurological sub-specialty and interest in conducting clinical research. Areas of sub-specialty interest that would mesh well with existing priorities include neurogenetics, behavioral neurology, cerebrovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, movement disorders, autism, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, infectious diseases, or patient outcomes and safety, but candidates with expertise in other areas will also be considered.
Responsibilities & Requirements: The Clinical Assistant/Associate professor will be responsible for working 100% of the time on the Neurology inpatient service. The ideal candidate will have finished a residency and sub-specialty fellowship, have a strong interest in an academic career, with training and commitment to develop an independent clinical or basic research program.
Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
