Our Patient Nutrition department has outstanding opportunity for a part time 50% FTE Food Service Worker to join our team. Food Service Worker is responsible for maintaining productivity standards on the patient tray assembly line. Prepares and portions food items according to Production guides. Assembles trays accurately and attractively. Maintains sanitation standards in work area. Properly stores and handles food including leftovers. Demonstrates knowledge of safe food handling. Understands and complies with departmental, safety, HIPAA, and UWMC policies and procedures. Contributes to a team process in a positive manner. Promotes positive customer service with patients and other departments. Willing to assist co-workers and supervisors when time allows. Other duties as needed.
1. Under the direct supervision of Food Service Supervisor, the Food Service Worker prepares and serves food items for the cafeteria.
2. Ensure food is handled safely and presented attractively.
3. Maintain sanitation standards in work areas.
4. Actively contribute to team process and maintains cooperative work environment.
5. Work to improve quality food and services provided to patients, staff and visitors.
6. Get beverages, and supplies from ICC. Stock all supplies.
7. Get dairy from ICC. Stock and rotate dairy products in accordance with the dates.
8. Must be Flexible with AM and PM hour
Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation and serving or equivalent education/experience
