Perform diet analysis, design nutrition prescriptions, and provide nutritional counseling and educational information to clients and patrons. Reports to Assistant Director, Fitness and Wellness or designated supervisor.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Conduct diet analysis, design nutrition prescriptions, and provide nutrition counseling specific to the client.
Provide educational information and handouts to clients on a variety of nutritional topics.
Provide clients with specific information so they better understand their own diet needs.
Build rapport with clients; grow and maintain a clientele base; maintain confidential client records, charts, and appointment book; make follow-up calls to clients.
Coordinate scheduled hours of service with coexisting programs.
Work with the marketing department to promote services and special events.
Maintain inventory and upkeep of nutritional supplies and work area.
Provide participation statistics for area and specific programs.
Develop and update nutrition program procedures and policies to ensure programs are safe and confidential for clients.
Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude with patrons and co-workers at all times.
Attend all staff and specific area meetings as required.
Perform related duties as assigned.
High school diploma, GED, or other equivalent. Previous registered dietitian experience.
License/Certification: Current State of Ohio Medical Board Dietitian License required. American Red Cross certification in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers required within 30 days of hire. Class and certification are available through the department.
