The Department of Health & Exercise Science invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Athletic Training Program starting September 1, 2017.
The Department of Health & Exercise Science provides a rigorous and enlightening intellectual environment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for the professional development, achievement, and distinction of leaders in Athletic Training, Health Promotion & Wellness Management, Nutrition, and Health & Physical Education. In Fall 2016, the Department will launch two new academic program offerings, a B.S. in Community Health Advocacy & Education and a B.S. in Human Performance in Clinical Settings.
The current B.S. in Athletic Training maintains a strong reputation for maintaining high standards and student-centered faculty to prepare students to enter the Athletic Training Profession. Over the last six years, the ATP has maintained a BOC Exam first time pass rate of 100%. As the program transitions to a five-year MSAT (first cohort to begin Fall 2016), the ATP will continue to strive to produce highly-qualified candidates that will provide exceptional quality health care and move the Athletic Training profession into the future. The successful candidate will teach courses within the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program, as well as other areas of expertise as appropriate. Evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level is required. Candidates also are expected to have a strong record of research and be able to compete successfully for external funding to support an independent research program. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the Department and with those in our Nursing department and Rowan?s two medical schools.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. from an accredited institution of higher education in Athletic Training or a related field, current national certification and good standing with the Board of Certification, eligible for attaining/maintaining New Jersey State licensure, and experience teaching within a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program.
