The Department of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) (http://repromed.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is seeking to expand its Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) Division with the recruitment of a tenured or tenure-track physician and clinical researcher at the Full professor level to serve as division director.
The successful candidate will benefit from the highly stimulating and collaborative environment within the Department of Reproductive Medicine. Applicants will be expected to practice clinical FPMRS, conduct an extramural clinical trials research program, teach students, train residents and fellows, mentor resident and fellow research projects, and participate in administrative functions of the department and University.
The candidate must have an M.D. and be a board certified practicing FPMRS subspecialist. Ideal candidates must have clinical experience in the full spectrum of pelvic floor disorders, experience leading sites in NIH national clinical trials in pelvic floor disorders, experience as division directors, fellowship program directors, and research program directors. Candidates must have five years of leadership experience either at the division level or major program area as well as a minimum of ten years academic medical center experience. Candidates must be able to secure extramural funding to support research. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.
Ideal candidates should have a MAS in Clinical Research (or the equivalent) and have (or be able to obtain) a California medical license. Demonstrated leadership in national and international urogynecology organizations is desired. Applicants are expected to have an outstanding publication record and a track record of success in obtaining extramural funding and have current NIH funding.
Appointment will be at the Full Professor level. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank and 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Review of applications will begin on 09/30/2016 and continue until the position is filled.
