Rowan University is a public comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 16,000 students. The Department of Sociology & Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2017 for our new B.A. program in Human Services, which will be delivered at our Camden campus. The successful candidate will coordinate the new program, teach courses within the B.A. in Human Services, assist with securing field placements for students, and lead accreditation efforts. Areas of teaching expertise include one or more of the following: Child and Family Welfare, Gerontology, Clinical Substance Abuse, and Case Management. Other teaching specializations will be considered. Candidates are expected to demonstrate teaching effectiveness; develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda, including peer-reviewed publications and the potential to obtain external funding; and participate in departmental initiatives such as developing and teaching online courses and aligning curriculum with community college partners. A Ph.D./DSW by the time of appointment is required, but other terminal degrees related to Human Services will be considered. Candidates who are Human Services Board Certified Practitioners are especially encouraged to apply.
