Description The Stanford Concussion and Brain Performance Center is a newly formed center within the Department of Neurosurgery. The Centers mission is to improve Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patient outcomes worldwide by developing best practice guidelines, conducting clinical research, and educating medical professionals and consumers. Aligned with the newly established Brain Trauma Evidence-based Consortium (B-TEC), the primary goal of our research serves to maximize the understanding of TBI and to integrate clinical research with evidence-based medicine for future generations of studies.
The Stanford Concussion and Brain Performance Center is seeking a full-time project manager to provide planning, monitoring, and managing of government-sponsored projects for the Brain Trauma Evidence-based consortium (B-TEC), from initiation through completion; ensuring on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs. S/he will oversee all aspects of the clinical research process, produce progress reports, coordinate activities, and ensure that timelines and deliverables on projects are being met. This involves the management of complex, multifaceted projects and oversight of all functional areas involved in delivery of various aspects of clinical programs/studies while meeting collaborators needs and adhering to the contracts.
These responsibilities include:
Perform the full range of project management cycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Independently lead and direct projects requiring high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines to be managed. Responsible for managing, leading and motivating the assigned cross-functional project team, facilitating the team's ability to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with project contracts, sponsor policies, procedures and SOPs.
Responsible for managing project goals, opportunities, resources, timelines, and metrics. Direct development of an action plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
Responsible for determining study assumptions, confirming assumptions with the client/collaborator, defining the tasks and product deliverables in detail, identifying resources, and timeline development. Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus.
Responsible for defining team goals with delegation of responsibility and timeline accountability among functional project team members and effectively interface with team members to insure resources are efficiently and properly allocated. Develop and help execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope and stakeholders; orchestrate and lead change management methodologies underlying project success.
Manage all aspects of collaborations and development of government-sponsored agreements. Responsible for communicating, presenting effectively, and working seamlessly with all project stakeholders: one-on-one, meetings, facilitation, motivating, problem solving, status reporting, conflict management, and delegation.
Responsible for analyzing periodic status reports to track and compare projected completions to the actuals.
Ability to understand and administer client contracts and agreements, develop statements of work and write amendments.
Ability to work weekend and evening shifts as required.

Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat

Qualifications DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Advanced degree in medical/pharmaceutical discipline, project management or business is preferred
2. 10 or more years of relevant work experience i.e., in clinical research, device development, pharmaceutical industry etc.
3. 5 years of team lead project management experience in a CRO or device/pharmaceutical setting
4. PMP certification from the Project Management Institute, PMP certification in progress, or PMP certification equivalent
5. Relevant work experience at an academic institution.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree in a related field, and five years Relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. Experience in management of projects with extensive size/complexity and moderate performance risk, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Frequently sit, perform desk based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
Rarely use a telephone, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, reach/work above shoulder, grasp forcefully.
