Position responsible for treatment planning research design and development, research execution, preparation and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts, development of novel clinical treatment planning techniques and protocols, and development of relevant education and training activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct radiation therapy dosimetry and treatment planning research. Prepare and design treatment planning research projects. Analyze treatment planning research data.
- Develop treatment planning research study protocols, including human studies trials and treatment delivery, verification, and response studies.
- Develop novel clinical treatment planning protocols, specifically those that involve novel dose delivery, imaging, or modality-specific situations. Prepare, present education and training, and assist in the implementation of the novel clinical protocols and techniques.
- Prepare and publish research results in peer-reviewed manuscripts and present at national and international meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in related field and dosimetry training is required.
Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board is preferred. Two years’ experience in medical dosimetry within a clinical Radiation Oncology setting is preferred.
Superior written and oral communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate analytical reasoning and perform mathematical computations. Knowledge of ethical and regulatory issues involving human subject research. Experience/Expertise with Power Point, HTML, Excel and Word, and commercial treatment planning systems. Expertise with radiation therapy dosimetry.
The hiring range for this position is $53,206 - $67,849 annually.
