Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) seek applications and nominations for the position of Chief, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Embrace Kids Foundation Endowed Chair of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides outstanding care for children with benign and malignant hematologic disorders and pediatric malignancies, in conjunction with the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (BMSCH-RWJUH). There are exciting opportunities for basic, translational, and clinical research, in collaboration with the rich research community of the CINJ, RWJMS and Rutgers University, including our children's academic campus in New Brunswick, comprised of the RWJMS Department of Pediatrics, the Child Health Institute of New Jersey, the BMSCH-RWJUH, and the PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital.
The Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology /Oncology will have the opportunity to build a strong collaborative and translational research program. This position will provide oversight for all operational and programmatic aspects within the Division, housed in two sections: (1) Section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Research and (2) Section of Clinical Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Responsibilities include academic and research advancement, funding procurement and sustainability, short and long range planning, overseeing personnel and divisional resources and participating in medical leadership activities. The successful candidate must have demonstrated successful administrative and leadership experience within an academic medical center. Candidates should be internationally recognized for their outstanding cancer research and should be dedicated to applying this new knowledge to the benefit of patients. A skilled and energetic leader is sought who has the ability to develop exciting collaborative research projects, attract national research grants, and who can work with community and patient advocacy groups.
Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey is one of only 41 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, the only such center in New Jersey, and is a leader in laboratory, clinical prevention and public health science. CINJ, part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is located in central Jersey and is associated with a vibrant research and educational community including RWJMS and Princeton University.
