The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified candidates for all ranks in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic medicine career in pathology will be given the opportunity to grow in a new and dynamic department that provides care in all UCI Irvine clinical locations. This includes the UC Irvine Douglas Hospital, a modern facility opened in 2009 with state-of-the-art operating rooms and all new equipment. Douglas Hospital is the only level I trauma center in Orange County. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent managerial skills, a strong interest in service activities, a commitment to education and a proven record in clinical and/or translational research. The candidate will be responsible for all clinical pathology services when on call-duty and also is expected to participate in intradepartmental and hospital committees and to teach medical students, residents and fellows.
