Reporting to the PI, oversee the planning, designing and performing experiments including a range of cell culture techniques in a large specialized laboratory focusing on developmental neurobiology research. The focus will be on a project that involves generation, maintenance, differentiation and transplantation of induced pluripotent stem cells and derivatives. Neuronal differentiation and molecular characterization of iPSC and progenitor cells; Development of various methods for analysis of these cells in both in vitro and in vivo models of differentiation;.

Required Skill/ability 1: Demonstrated experience independently culturing and deriving human pluripotent stem cells. Demonstrated experience independently establishing neural progenitor cell cultures. Strong background in aseptic cell culture techniques, including DNA transfection and transduction.
Required Skill/ability 2: Experience with microscopy and imaging. Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including immunohistochemistry and PCR. Demonstrated experience independently designing experiments using standard laboratory procedures and emergent literature to effectively answer biologically relevant questions.
Required Skill/ability 3: Ability to troubleshoot to resolve issues and identify the best methodology. Ability to independently prepare and analyze data to determine future directions. Excellent organizational skills, attentive to detail, and ability to maintain clear notes.

Required Licenses Or Certifications:
Master's Degree in a scientific discipline and one year experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
