The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the area of Organic Chemistry. We are interested in outstanding candidates with research goals in all areas of modern organic chemistry, with special interest in bioorganic chemistry, chemical biology, or organomaterials. Ideal candidates are envisioned to make use of our state-of-the-art small molecule Screening Center, and departmental resources such as the 800 MHz NMR and the modern Mass Spectrometry facility. Creative scientists with a strong record of achievement and commitment to excellence in both research and teaching are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (including classroom), supervision and mentoring of graduate students, and provide service to the campus and their profession. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the UCSC academic community through their research, teaching, and service.
RANK: Associate or Full Professor (tenured)
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, academic year (9-month) basis
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Chemistry or a related field; and demonstrated record of research, university-level teaching, and service
