Cowell College at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications from investment and business professionals for the position of temporary part-time lecturer, under the direction of the Cowell Provost. Cowell is seeking to establish a lecturer pool for its ongoing course on Personal Finance and Investing. This course, designed and taught by the lecturer, offers students the opportunity for small, seminar-style classes in personal finance and investing at the college level. Applicants should be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment. Possible related areas of teaching might include finance, economics or business. The successful candidate will be expected to design and teach the course.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience and number of course units taught.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: MBA in hand at time of application; a demonstrated record of teaching in higher education; demonstrated record of teaching classes within the last three (3) years; experience designing and teaching courses in investing and finance; demonstrated experience in a leadership role in investing and business consulting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Actual experience managing major investment portfolios.
