1. MFA in Art or extensive professional recognition and experience (required) Note: The MFA is the terminal degree in Art. However, as listed in the department's criteria below, the department may accept documented equivalency in lieu of a degree when faculty is hired. When making appointments, the following may be considered in lieu of an MFA degree: a) advanced studies at a foreign school that does not award MFA degrees; b) extended advanced study with recognized artists in the field; c) Professional achievement which provides a depth of knowledge in the field comparable to an MFA degree. This might include evaluations by distinguished peers in the field, which would state that, because of a faculty’s exhibition record and professional achievement, this person has the equivalent of an MFA. 2. Practicing artist in the media area to which you are applying (required) 3. Evidence of a current exhibition record and professional level of accomplishment in the media area to which you are applying (required) 4. Some university or college-level teaching experience (required) The DRAWING, PAINTING, AND PRINTMAKING area seeks instructors for beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes. In addition, other courses are occasionally available.
