The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks an Assistant or Associate Research Professor to serve the School System Improvement (SSI) Project. This position is a grant-funded, non-tenure track, Academic Year faculty position beginning September 1, 2016. The primary responsibility of the hire will be assisting with extramural funding and publishing journal articles with a supportive multidisciplinary research team (i.e., school psychology, education, special education, and measurement/statistics). Rutgers University is a Research 1 University by the Carnegie Foundation and recognized as one of the top 62 research Universities in North America by the Association of American Universities.
The hire will analyze data, publish journal articles, and attract extramural funding with a great multidisciplinary research team. The hire will serve as a liaison for both current and potential federal sponsors. This individual will review resources, monitor funding opportunities, and contact potential sponsors. Analytical skills will be important for processing funding opportunities to identify those which have the potential for success and are therefore worth pursuing. With staff assistance, this person will also process federal grant paperwork, assist with federal grant proposals processing, and monitor and manage federal sponsor/grant information. The person must have excellent social and communication skills, as well as organizational and editing skills.

Requires broad based knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of oral and written communications and interpersonal relations skills in order to determine the most effective method to present proposals and to foster effective relationships between the unit, school partners and funding sources.
