Duties and Responsibilities:
The University of Houston’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) which operates under the Bauer College of Business, a doctoral degree granting, research oriented college within a tier 1 research university is accepting applications for an Executive Director/Research Professor. The SBDC is currently one of the most successful and highest ranking centers of its type in the country.
This is a faculty position, which serves as Executive Director of the center. Duties entail all aspects of operating the Gulf Coast SBDC.

Masters Degree, at a minimum, is required.
Minimum of 10 years experience in an executive management position with P&L responsibility in a commercial business of at least 50 employees.
Must have extensive knowledge of business management practices and principles, finance and banking, accounting, human resources, procurement and contracting, and economic development.
Must be fully experienced in critical thinking, negotiating, planning and budget management.
Must have experience in writing/interpreting general contract terms and conditions and strategic plan development and deployment.
Ph.D. in a Business related field or equivalent, or other terminal degree (i.e., J.D.) is strongly preferred.
