Job Summary: A Research Associate position is available with Dr. Shi-You Ding in the Department of Plant Biology at Michigan State University. We welcome applicants who are dedicated to cutting edge science and engineering research. This position will work with Dr. Ding in the development of imaging techniques using Atomic Force Microscopy and Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy for in vivo and in situ characterization of plants and microbes.Applicants who have completed postdoctoral training with excellent record of publication may be considered for the level of Assistant Professor (fixed term). This position is available for one year with possible renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding.
Minimum Requirements: A Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry or related field. Hands-on experience in lasers, optics and spectroscopy. Proficiency with software tools similar to Matlab, Labview, and other computation tools for image analysis. Excellence in writing and communication in English.
