Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks to fill a Research Professor position in Low Frequency Seismic Acquisition Physics.
This position seeks a recognized leader in developing fundamental new seismic acquisition methods to significantly extend the bandwidth of seismic data. The research would include progress and advances in both the fundamental physics and practical experimental physics and engineering challenges required for innovative new, more capable and more effective broadband source and receiver development. The candidate would be expected to initiate and direct a research consortium, with support from the petroleum industry and federal funding.
Industrial research experience is a definite plus, and the position requires a PhD in physics or a related field.
