Summary Description: A postdoctoral position is available in the team of Prof. Scott Small. The laboratory is focused on the biology of the retromer complex in Alzheimer's disease, in particular its role in APP and tau processing. The laboratory is equipped with multiple cell and animal models for biochemical and histochemical studies with an emphasis on small molecules and therapeutic development. The Scientist will perform in vitro and in vivo studies on the role of retromer regulation and the endosomal machinery in the aging brain and Alzheimer's disease. Techniques that will be utilized include immunohistochemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology. The candidate should be highly motivated with strong organizational skills, proactive, a team player, and able to present the work in weekly lab meetings. All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position.
Minimum Qualifications: The position requires a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related discipline. In addition to the aforementioned scientific knowledge, the successful applicant is required to have publications and prior experience/training in research models / in vivo studies.
Preferred Qualifications: Training and/or experience in Neurodegenerative disorders
