The responsibilities of the position include development of a preservation protocols for cellular therapies and studies to characterize mechanisms of damage during freezing. The position will also involve training in GMP production of cell therapies and development of specialized cell therapies through the NHLBI funded training grant, ?Integrated Training in Development and Clinical Practice of Cell Based Therapies.? Candidates may also be responsible for supervision of graduate students, writing of reports, grant applications, research papers and maintaining laboratory equipment and safety systems. Responsibilities may evolve with time as protocols move closer to clinical applicability.
Required: Earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
