Part-time Lecturer in Clinical Specializations positions available as determined by department's curricular and institutional needs to teach in courses within the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences. Responsibilities include: development and administration of lecture and laboratory experiences in area of specialization, including but not limited to preparation of lectures, course materials, examinations to evaluate student performance, and availability to communicate with lead faculty and students outside of class time.
Licensure in physical therapy or a related field is required. Advanced certification in an area of specialized clinical practice is strongly preferred (OCS, NCS, CSCS, ATP, etc.). Successful applicants will demonstrate evidence of experience in a specialized area of clinical practice as well as education of students preparing for health care professions.
The Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences is successfully and rapidly building and strengthening its department-based research program, in parallel with the exciting growth occurring across Northeastern University. Centered within the Bouv College of Health Sciences, the department has strong interdisciplinary collaborations within Bouv and across other Northeastern Colleges including the College of Arts, Media and Design, College of Science, the College of Computer Science and the College of Engineering. Joint and courtesy appointments to facilitate these collaborations may be possible across appropriate disciplines.
Bouv College of Health Sciences has over 200 faculty, with approximately 2,100 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students. Within Bouv, the Behrakis Health Sciences Center houses a state of the art human performance and exercise laboratory with teaching and research space, including fully equipped exercise stress testing stations, metabolic carts, Lunar DEXA machine, an underwater weighing tank, Cybex and Keiser strength and power equipment, wet lab facilities for blood processing and muscle biopsies.
