Minimum Qualifications: MD/DO NYS License or eligible. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and possess additional qualification in Bariatric Surgery.
Job Standard / Operational Needs: Candidate must provide clinical coverage of General Surgery and Laparoscopic Bariatric/MIS practices at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Candidate will perform patient care responsibilities that include inpatient and outpatient general surgical consultation, performing major and minor general surgery procedures, participation in general, bariatric and trauma surgery call. Candidate will supervise the peri-operative care of bariatric and general surgery patients as needed. Candidate will provide clinical over site for surgical house staff and students in caring for patients on the General, Bariatric and MIS service. Candidate will participate in medical student, resident and continuing medical education activities. This includes didactic lectures, departmental conferences, CME programs, teaching rounds, resident evaluations and other routine educational activities within the department.
