Posting Summary: A full-time Laboratory Technician 2 position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel A. Engel, Ph.D., in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology to work on drug discovery and molecular biology of RNA viruses. Significant prior experience (above classroom experience) in a research laboratory is required or a passionate dedication to learning how to conduct laboratory research. The successful applicant will conduct experiments and procedures including high throughput small molecule screening (30%), molecular cloning (10%), tissue culture (10%), and biological assay development (30%). He/she will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory and its supplies (20%). Applicants must have a B.S. or B.A. in biology, chemistry or a related subject, or have completed pre-medical or equivalent coursework.
