Posting Summary: UVA Engineering's Office of Communications seeks a part-time writer to help create, manage and distribute content for the School's website, social media sites and print publications.
The writer will work with the communications director and assistant director to create original content that celebrates UVA Engineering's exceptional faculty, students and alumni, to help position the School as a national leader in interdisciplinary research and demonstrate our commitment to educating the next generation of engineering leaders.
Responsibilities include researching and writing stories for the UVA Engineering website and publications, reviewing and prioritizing story topic submissions, and updating social media sites.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of writing experience in journalism, communications or a related field and will be able to produce compelling, accurate copy in a fast-paced environment. Writing samples will be requested and a writing test will be administered.
