Posting Summary: The Department of Urology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is creating the new position of Urologic Oncology Division Chief. This is a tenure track clinical faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The UVa Health System offers a broad range of opportunities for collaborative clinical and basic research, an active clinical trials program, is an NCI-designated Clinical Cancer Center and a member of the ORIEN network. The Division Chief will oversee the urologic oncology program of the Department and work closely with GU medical and radiation oncology to develop a top tier urologic oncology program supported by dedicated programmatic funds. The Urologic Oncology Division Chief will be expected to help develop the Cancer Center's urologic oncology program.
Candidates must have an MD/DO degree and be board-certified in Urology and have completed fellowship training in urologic oncology. Expertise in the care of patients with urologic neoplasms is essential. In addition to providing outstanding clinical care the candidate will have dedicated protected time to provide leadership of the Urologic Oncology program and oversee clinical research development within the division . In addition, the successful candidate must actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
