One, half-day outpatient clinic day per week. One, 2-week inpatient rotations on the solid tumor service which includes weekend call responsibilities for assigned inpatient blocks. Teaching responsibilities will be carried out in the course of mentoring trainees during clinical service, research activity, and will also include occasional lectures and journal club participation.
Participate in Division and Section meetings, serve on relevant committees, and contribute to the mission of the Division and the Knight Institute as requested by the Division Chief, Section Head, and/or the Knight Deputy Director. Participate in philanthropic activities in collaboration with the Knight Senior Director for Development. Administrative leadership responsibilities will be split:
- Medical Director, Knight Cancer Network (40% FTE)- Provide clinical leadership for the OHSU Knight Cancer Network, in support of the Networks mission to establish a sustainable system of engagement for community cancer providers, community health systems in Oregon and beyond.
- Collaborate with medical communities to access community cancer programs and provide consultative services for program enhancement to support the care of patients with Hem/Onc diseases aligning OHSU Knight resources when appropriate. Oversee and manage Knight Cancer Network program planning and development, in partnership with the Network Administrator. Facilitate collaboration between the Knight Cancer Institute, OHSU, and community affiliates.
- Medical Director, Hematology and Medical Oncology (45% FTE) Integrate and optimize the health care services and delivery components of physicians in the Division. Provide clinical management expertise to the program and liaison with leadership, clinicians, and staff, as needed, in adult hematology and oncology operations at OHSU. Develop and direct operations, identify and implement new initiatives, and assess their impact upon performance improvement in Hospital and clinic locations, working with clinicians and Healthcare Administration. Have broad knowledge of health care operations and relevant management experience, plus become versed in current needs and future plans for expansion using Via Oncology, Valuestream and the CMS/Medicare reimbursement pilot program. Have rapport and credibility with all stakeholder groups and exhibit strong peer leadership and change management skills.
