POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Plasma Science and Fusion Center, to join the Waves and Beams Division. Will conduct experimental and theoretical research as a participant in a pioneering research program on coherent terahertz sources, high power microwaves, gyrotrons, and accelerator physics. Research includes terahertz gyrotrons for spectroscopy, high gradient accelerator research, photonic crystal and metamaterial research, high power microwave sources, high power and high frequency gyrotrons for plasma heating, and novel terahertz vacuum electron devices. The Plasma Science and Fusion Center offers a diverse program of research in all areas of plasma science and fusion energy research. Will be expected to make original research contributions to the research program, produce work for publication, and present work at scientific conferences.
REQUIRED: a doctorate in physics or electrical or nuclear engineering, outstanding scientific research ability, excellent communication skills, and willingness to work in a large team alongside undergraduate and graduate students and project scientists.
