Position Summary: A postdoctoral or more senior research position in Systems and Synthetic Biology of photosynthetic organisms is available in the Jonikas Lab at Princeton University. Photosynthetic organisms, our planet's greatest chemists, form the foundations for human health by providing us with food, fuel, materials and drugs. Yet, our understanding of these organisms is in its infancy. The Jonikas laboratory aims to enable advances in sustainability by bringing systems and synthetic biology to photosynthetic organisms.The successful candidate will join a highly interactive group, with strengths in cell biology, genetics, molecular biology and computational biology. Essential Qualifications: The ideal applicant will be highly motivated, have a Ph.D. degree, a strong academic record, research experience in genetics, molecular biology or computational biology, and fluent English language skills.
Preferred Qualifications: One or more of the following is a plus: experience with Chlamydomonas or higher plant model organisms, photosynthesis, large-scale cloning, high-throughput genetics, microscopy or mass spectrometry proteomics.
