Minimum Qualifications: NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master's Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA). Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. Prior experience in orthopedic specialty area and BSN or MSN preferred.
Job Standard / Operational Needs: Outpatient care to include new patient evaluation and followup of existing patients. Obtaining preoperative history and physicals for patients with spine related diagnoses. Administrative work to include phone calls to patients and follow up of diagnostic studies. Inpatient care to include pre and postoperative assessment. Discharge planning. Provide first assistant support in the operating room.
