Advertised Summary Job Description: The incumbent will have a dual reporting relationship with the Division Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine and the Department Administrator. This position will be responsible for overseeing the financial, administrative and clinical operations activities within the Division. Financial responsibilities include developing, monitoring and presenting Divisional budget in which funding is comprised from academic, research and clinical activity. Responsible for: completing recruitment business plans and P&Ls; analysis reports as requested; monitor and explain budget variances on a consistent basis to Division chief and Department; maintaining fiscal controls; identify areas for financial improvement, business development and strategic planning; understand and ensure appropriate revenue cycle processes throughout the Division and monitor results; responsible for space management operationally and financially. Operational responsibilities will include supervising daily operations of clinical and administrative support staff within the Division. Oversee all human resources functions such as hiring, training, supervising, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions, and to work closely with all existing HR entities (CU, NYP, Service Corp, 1199) to appropriately do so. Ensure that all staff and faculty are compliant with hospital/departmental/ division policies and procedures. In addition, the Division Administrator will assist with all human resource processes for faculty such as hiring, appointments and promotions, salary allocations, credentialing, compensation management for incoming faculty as well as existing faculty. This role will also supervise and collaboratively work with practice managers to oversee faculty practice site operations which includes but not limited to coordination/ implementation of practice flow, monitor scheduling templates/volume, improve and maintain patient satisfaction scores. Collaboratively work with central admin staff to complete all responsibilities as required and other related duties as needed. Research responsibilities include working with central research administration in implementing research studies and salary allocations as needed. This position will be expected to maintain a high level of organization and professional communication. He/she must be able to work diplomatically and collaboratively with all levels of staff including Hospital and University leadership.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Faculty practice and management experience. Must have substantial financial, budget and operational experience. Excellent interpersonal organizational, and writing skills required. Strong initiative and problem solving skills necessary in order to develop and implement new systems, techniques and procedures.
