Summary Description: Columbia University's Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology's Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis Program is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. The laboratory has a special interest in translational research in normal and malignant hematopoiesis with a focus on plasma/multiple myeloma cells, The prolects include investigation of the effects of thalidomide and its immunomodulatory derivatives on early stem cell lineage commitment with a special focus on B cell development and myeloid development. Projects involve the use of the following techniques: cellculture, stem cell assays, stable transfection of hematopoietic cells including myeloid and lymphoid cells,gene and protein expression analysis (northern blot, RT-PCR, quantitative PCR, western blot), siRNA, FACS analysis, EMSA and ELlSA
Minimum Qualifications: MD and/or Ph.D
