Advertised Summary Job Description: The Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery is currently seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP). The NP will be responsible for working collaboratively with physicians and residents in taking care of Otolaryngology patients. The NP performs direct patient care services; will document history, orders, notes and ongoing evaluation of patients; review laboratory results and order appropriate tests; provide patient education, monitor follow-up appointments and schedule procedures and next steps as needed. The NP will serve as liaison to referring physicians and external transfers. In addition, there will be opportunities to assist with research studies being conducted as well as with Quality Assurance initiatives.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus 4 years of experience. Current New York State NP and RN licenses. Must be board certified.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Must be available to work a weekday schedule between Monday- Friday. Excellent communication skills are needed.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience in a surgical specialty, preferably Otolaryngology and/or surgery. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
