The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking applicants for a fulltime faculty position in orbit and oculofacial plastic surgery at the Assistant Professor level or higher. This individual will be responsible for direct outpatient and inpatient clinical and surgical care of a diverse and complex patient population at four hospitals, including UCSF Medical Center, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. In addition, the physician will be expected to support the department’s outreach program by providing care at satellite facilities in the Bay Area. Commitment to resident and fellow education is required. In addition, the candidate is expected to develop or advance an independent research program.
REQUIREMENTS: The qualified candidate must hold an MD degree and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology and an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery approved fellowship. The individual must be board certified or eligible and have a California medical license or be eligible. The candidate must have knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of oculofacial plastic and orbital disorders. Lastly, the individual must demonstrate an interest in translational or clinical research.
