The University of Chicago's Department of Family Medicine invites applications for a position at the rank of clinical assistant professor. The job combines a clinical practice in a community-based medical facility (50%) with an academic role as Clerkship Director with primary teaching and leadership responsibilities in a required Family Medicine Clerkship. The Clerkship Director role involves training faculty, teaching medical students, curriculum development and scholarly engagement in the critical appraisal of the medical literature, and scholarship relevant to the care of underserved communities. The successful applicant will possess expertise and experience as a clinician and educator, with a special interest in developing curricula for physician wellness and resiliency. MD/DO or equivalent required as well as Family Medicine Board certification. Desired qualifications, but not required, include a master's degree, proficiency in medical Spanish, practice experience in a federally qualified health center or similar underserved population, and fellowship training in Integrative Medicine. Before the start of employment applicants must have or be eligible for a medical license in the state of Illinois and have at least 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
