The Oregon Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (OR-FACE) Program at OHSU is seeking to fill a fatality investigator and outreach specialist position at the rank of Research Associate, or Senior Research Associate (rank dependent upon education and experience). The position will be part time.
The OR-FACE fatality investigator will report to Dr. Ryan Olson (OR-FACE Project Director, see http://bit.ly/rolson) and work closely with the OR-FACE research coordinator. The OR-FACE investigator and outreach specialist will also collaborate with Outreach and Education staff at the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences. The mission of OR-FACE is to prevent occupational fatalities through surveillance, targeted investigation, and outreach. Primary job responsibilities for this position include:
Conducting 4-6 occupational fatality investigations annually, both independently and in collaboration with Oregon OSHA and other industry experts as needed. Publishing fatality investigation reports according to NIOSH standards.
Providing general occupational safety and health technical expertise for all aspects of the OR-FACE research program (see http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/research/centers-institutes/oregon-institute-occupational-health-sciences/outreach/or-face/)
Producing technical content for outreach publications (e.g., fatality investigations, hazard alerts, brochures, website blogs, annual report) and working with the OR-FACE research coordinator to prepare the publications for print or release.
Coordinating and implementing OR-FACE outreach and education efforts. Examples include collaboration with the annual SAIF Agricultural Safety Series and organizing events for the Oregon GOSH conference.
Maintaining and developing research partnerships with trade associations and/or unions (e.g., Associated Oregon Loggers, Oregon Home Builders Association).
Participating in and supporting the Institutes Outreach and Education program and its activities and events (e.g., blog, conferences, event sponsorships)
