The Department of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) (http://repromed.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is seeking to expand its Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) Division with the recruitment of a part-time board certified FPMRS physician.
This part time position, estimated to be 60% effort, will involve participation in the clinical, teaching and research missions of the FPMRS division. Applicants will be expected to practice clinical FPMRS, conduct NIH funded research, teach students, train residents and fellows, mentor resident and fellow research projects, and participate in administrative functions of the department and University.
Candidates must have an MD and have (or be able to obtain) a California medical license. Applicants must have an outstanding publication record and a track record of success in obtaining extramural funding and have current NIH funding. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.
Ideal candidates should have clinical experience in the full spectrum of pelvic floor disorders, experience as a PI in NIH research studies, experience as a division director, a fellowship program director. Demonstrated significant leadership in medical schools, departments, and national organizations and a MS in Clinical Research (or the equivalent) is desired. Successful fundraising experience is also desired.
Appointment will be at the Professor level in the Clinical series. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Review of applications will begin on August 1, 2016 and continue until the position is filled.
