Brian J.F. Wong, M.D., Ph.D. seeks applicants for a junior research specialist at the Beckman Laser Institute. Applicants with a broad background are encouraged to apply, but consideration is given to those with an extensive background in optics or medical device design. Dr. Wong's work is focused in three areas: 1) development of optical imaging technology, 2) characterization of thermoviscoelasticity and shape change in living tissues, and 3) development of novel light activated/modulated therapeutic regimens. Candidates should have a BS or MS in engineering. Communication and writing skills are paramount. Candidates should possess the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting, and familiarity with biomedical optics concepts is desired. Salary level is negotiable, and will depend upon the candidate's experience. All appointments are for one year with potential for extension dependent upon performance and funding.
