To be eligible, a Master's degree (Instructor) or Doctorate (Assistant Professor) is required from an accredited institution in Education, Exercise Science, Public Health, Health Education, Physical Education, Environmental Education or Outdoor Education related to specific teaching assignment. Note: Master's/Doctorate degree must have been completed by July 1, 2016.
Required teaching experience for Instructor and Assistant Professor position(s) include: capacity for successful teaching at the university level, demonstrated excellence in written communication skills, commitment to and understanding of issues of equity and inclusion in education.
Preferred experience for Instructor and Assistant Professor position(s) include: two or more years of full-time teaching experience in pertinent field of study (e.g. Exercise Science, Physical Education).
Preferred experience in Public Health or Health Education would be given to candidates with experience in teaching health and wellness, consumer health, community health, research and evaluation and/or health education specialist.
Preferred experience in Physical Education would be given to Physical Education teachers with a current K-12 license with highest consideration to candidates with licensure from the state of Minnesota. Candidates must provide evidence of teaching licensure.
Preferred experience in Exercise Science would be given to candidates with experience in teaching exercise testing and prescription and/or clinical exercise physiology.
Preferred experience in Environmental and Outdoor Education would be given to candidates with experience in teaching Outdoor Education or Adventure Education skills (e.g. Risk management, Winter Camping, Field Interpretive Techniques, and/or Cross Country Skiing).
