Advertised Summary Job Description: The incumbent performs all billing, collection and appeal activities including reviewing claims for accuracy and completeness, correcting any deficiencies, ensuring timely filing of claims to insurance companies and patients; contacting insurance companies to expedite payments of outstanding claims and processing appeals for denials and rejections. Follows up on electronic claims submissions utilizing E-commerce and other available systems. Performs other related duties as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have a minimum of two years of college or completion of secretarial school or equivalent business experience, plus a minimum of two to three years related experience.
Experience with IDX required.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant.
Applicant must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel, IDX, medical billing and collections. The person filling this position should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to meet deadlines, must be detail oriented and have a high level of accuracy, and be familiar with computerized reports.
