The Nursing Liaison Librarian is responsible for planning, promoting and providing nursing information services to the faculty, staff and students of the School of Nursing, the clinical nursing programs at OHSU and in the OHSU Library. Continually assessing the needs of OHSU Librarys users, the Nursing Liaison Librarian provides information services to support the needs of OHSU, developing and implementing new programs and services as appropriate, and serves as the liaison to assigned departments by cultivating relationships with faculty, staff and students in liaison areas. This position will investigate and anticipate the evolving needs of the nursing programs at OHSU, and leverage library expertise and identify new partnerships when opportunities arise. This includes assisting nursing faculty, staff and students with information literacy, informatics, and research data management needs. This position supports students and faculty in all nursing programs and locations affiliated with OHSU, including the regional campuses.
The Nursing Liaison Librarian provides Evidence Based Practice training and supports the outreach activities of the OHSU Library where appropriate. The Nursing Liaison Librarian provides instruction to faculty, staff and students at their educational and clinical sites and participates in the development of curriculum and provides educational programs in one-on-one and group settings, meeting the needs of OHSU users. As a member of the Library Faculty, the Nursing Liaison Librarian participates in planning, policy formation, and decision-making relating to library services, collections, and technologies. This position requires scholarship and service that contributes to the effectiveness of the Library, the University, and the profession.
