FACULTY AFFAIRS OFFICE SUPPORT (Administrative Support Coordinator I)

The Faculty Affairs Support incumbent reports to the Faculty Affairs Coordinator working independently under general supervision, in support of the Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs (AVP of Faculty Affairs), the Director of Labor Relations, the Faculty Affairs Coordinator, and the Labor Relations Support position, under general direction of the Faculty Affairs Coordinator. Incumbent assists in the processing and compiling of sensitive data related to collective bargaining for Unit 3 and Unit 11 as well as in faculty RTP, and recruitment. The incumbent will work both independently and collaboratively and is a primary contact and liaison between the Office of Faculty Affairs and the Academic departments/units on the Chico campus. The incumbent will communicate daily with faculty, staff, students, and visitors to the Office of Faculty Affairs, as well as other administrative units on campus, administrative units within the CSU System, and the Chancellor's Office using discretion in communicating information as needed. The incumbent will provide continuity and stability to the office, oversight of daily operations, and exceptional customer services as the first point of contact.
This position requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with three years of related office work experience.Special Requirements:
- The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
- A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position. This is considered a sensitive position. Current CSU, Chico employees are subject to a background check (including a criminal record check) if voluntarily moving into a sensitive position, regardless of any background checks previously conducted.
Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Must be able to walk /travel across campus to other offices and buildings on and off campus for meetings and events.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:Closing Date: 7/11/2016
Work is performed in a typical office environment operating standard office equipment, and involves frequent to constant interaction with faculty and staff.
