Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Pharmacy seeks applicants for a clinical Assistant / Associate/Full Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the Division of Pharmacy Practice (ambulatory care). The FDU School of Pharmacy prepares pharmacists who will provide patient-centered care, advance the pharmacy profession through research and patient and public health advocacy, as well as serve as future health care leaders. FDU School of Pharmacy offers an integrated curriculum that seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners who are able to effectively communicate with diverse populations and work as integral members of interprofessional health care teams. Further, the School offers a concurrent Master's degree program to qualified pharmacy students.
The clinical faculty position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment (rank and salary commensurate with skills and experience). Faculty members are expected to support the FDU School of Pharmacy vision through teaching in the professional pharmacy curriculum, developing a research agenda within their discipline and providing service to the School of Pharmacy and University at large.
This position will be affiliated with a clinical practice site that is seeking a clinical pharmacy practice faculty member to participate in direct patient care at their outpatient clinics. It is expected that clinical assistant professor will maintain active interdisciplinary ambulatory care practice at their assigned clinical site. Primary responsibilities of a faculty member at the clinical site will include rounding, educating Fairleigh Dickinson University students, hospital residents, and hospital/pharmacy staff, providing and documenting pharmacotherapeutic interventions/pharmacy consultations, providing patient counseling/medication reconciliation, documenting medication errors/adverse drug reactions, and participating in quality improvement initiatives as assigned by the director of pharmacy at the clinical site.
Successful applicant will:
1.Have a PharmD degree with PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency training; exceptional applicants with PGY-1 only training may be considered;
2.Demonstrate understanding of academic pharmacy, experiential education, and ACPE accreditation standards related to curriculum and experiential education;
3.Show a desire to participate in expanding new educational platforms, including integration of technology and active learning;
4.Demonstrate leadership and initiative in supporting School's assessment and accreditation efforts;
5.Have a vision for the future of pharmacy education as a global enterprise;
6.Develop a personal philosophy and program of teaching, research and service focused on enriching students and enhancing the profession.
