Summary Description: The Division of Family Planning and Preventive Services in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University is recruiting a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The applicant will join four full-time faculty members, a nurse practitioner, and three fellows with a diverse range of clinical and research interests. Faculty collaborate with other departments and schools at Columbia University Medical Center (e.g., adolescent medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health) and with the many reproductive health organizations based in NYC. The new faculty member will participate in family planning-related patient care in hospital clinics, the faculty practice, and the operating room. Duties also include family planning call from home and administration of hospital clinics.While there are currently no obstetrical duties, we are interested in candidates who would like to grow our postpartum LARC services. The faculty member could transition to a generalist position with substantial family planning clinical duties when an obstetrical opening becomes available. There is an opportunity for international work through our relationship with the Mailman School of Public Health. All faculty members teach fellows, residents, medical students, nursing students, and public health students. Research opportunities are available as per interest.
Minimum Qualifications: - Have completed a Fellowship in Family Planning- Be board certified or eligible in OB/GYN- Be eligible to obtain a New York Medical License- Bilingual candidate (English/Spanish) is a must.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates interested in developing a research program, and those interested in management, administration, or policy work are encouraged to apply.
