Associate/Full Professor (Ladder Rank, In Residence)- Pulmonary Medicine
Tenure Position in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. The Department of Medicine (med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is initiating a search for an academic physician and researcher for a tenured faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank and 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding. The Division is internationally recognized for its research and patient care.
The position will focus on research on Chronic Pulmonary diseases. Successful applicants will benefit from and complement the existing strengths of the Department in studies of respiratory system diseases. Candidates should also have existing research, and clinical expertise and experience in chronic lung infections, particularly tuberculosis and adult cystic fibrosis. Applicants must have an excellent record of research productivity, extramural grant funding and demonstrate the ability to develop a rigorous research program.
Applicants must be eligible for California medical license and board certification/eligibility in Pulmonary and Critical Care. The Department of Medicine is interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, service and/or patient care leading to an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
