Responsibilities may include teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: elementary education, early childhood education, secondary education, special education, American Sign Language, Academic English Language Program, education administration, graduate programs, human diversity, technology; advising education students; supervising student teacher candidates; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned.
Required academic qualification to be eligible for the Instructor position is a Masters degree from an accredited institution in education or field related to specific teaching assignment. Required academic qualification to be eligible for the Assistant Professor position is a Doctorate from an accredited institution in education or field related to specific teaching assignment.
Required experience for Instructor and Assistant Professor positions include: capacity for successful teaching at the university level, demonstrated excellence in written communication skills, commitment to the education of racially and linguistically diverse populations.
Preferred experience for Instructor and Assistant Professor positions include: two or more years teaching experience in P-12 schools, two or more years teaching experience at the university level, experience with and commitment to working with students from diverse population groups, evidence of ability to integrate diversity issues into the curriculum, experience teaching with technology and evidence of ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.
